What do you do with your horse?
I compete in the 14-18 all around events and I'm currently #3 in the nation.
What are your favorite events/activities with your horse?
I love showing, not only to see the hard work pay off, but to see so many of my
close friends. Showing is addicting for me and I'm always excited to get on the
road and see new places. I also love going to my trainers, Simons Show Horses,
in Aubrey TX to practice practice and practice some more. They make it so much
fun!
What do you like most about paint horses?
The versatility of the paint horse is incredible. I love watching the variety of
classes these amazing horses can compete in. There are so many at the top of
their game in such a wide array of events.
What do you like most about AjPHA?
How much fun you can have by being involved! AjPHA has opened up so many
opportunities in my life. From meeting new people, to the amazing shows that are
put on to compete at. The AjPHA World Show has to be one of the most exciting
times of the year for me as you get to compete with the best of the best. The
atmosphere is unreal.
What has owning a horse taught you?
Responsibility. A horse can't feed, water, or exercise itself.
What would you say to someone who might be interested in owning a paint
horse?
Check out your local Paint Horse clubs and get involved. There's so much to
learn, and the experience of owning a Paint Horse is life changing.
What would you say to someone that is thinking about starting to compete
in APHA shows?
Go for it! The people are friendly and make you feel so welcome. The competition
is fun and meeting new people is always exciting. With novice classes offered,
you can work your way up with your horse and develop your skill and confidence
along the way.
